Feature Film: Desert Fury

Desert Fury Movie Still

Film noir wasn’t only in black-and-white. Those hardboiled melodramas and detective films from the 1940s and 1950s were sometimes made in color, too.

Come enjoy four dark and gripping tales that even Technicolor can’t cheer up on Tuesdays at 7 p.m.

On July 28, come for Desert Fury (1947), starring Burt Lancaster and Lizabeth Scott. Paula Haller, rebellious daughter of a casino owner, falls for racketeer Eddie Bendix and upsets the relationship between Eddie and his violent pal Johnny Ryan.

Color Noir: A Film Series runs on July 21 & 28 and August 4 & 11.

This event is free and open to all.
